Catawba River Access - Wylie Dam

I’m going here every weekend. It’s good for fishing and Kaiya and the view . But this place is sometime you can’t park no where . On weekends u wont find a parking too many ppl.

I am from a small town, my boyfriend wanted to show me around, so we went at night. I'd like to come here again during the day, too. The only thing I wish, was that there was a little light on the path to get here, but that is a very minor issue. Beautiful spot!

Great place to access the Catawba River just downstream of the dam. Plenty of parking, you can launch a kayak trailer from the ramp too. But be warned, in the summer, especially on weekends, parking can get quite packed with all the tube floaters. Get there early!

We like to explore locally and this is in our regular rotation. Go for a small walk and enjoy the views. I’ve always wanted to tube down the river and you can start from here.
