Great fishing and a wonderful place to put th boat in

Went there for fishing. Seen a sign that said no fishing or crabbing. Then found out that's just for the beach area. Went fishing on the public dock and caught a small red drum within 30 minutes of arriving, just before high tide. The dock is about to be rebuilt, so I was able to try it in time before they took out the old dock. People were very nice there too! I'll definitely be back for more fishing and crabbing too!

We are new to the area, so we misunderstood (we were ready to see a beach.) This isn't a "beach" but is a public access boat landing. A little bit of shoreline (a tad messy and looks uncared for. ) A cute spot to sit on the stone benches and breathe the salty air!

it’s great place to relax but the grass has grown that the beach area is very small

Beautiful location and wide enough but water flow will cut hard across it during tides transition making it a difficult for launch. The dropoff can be in big places and pop it off your hitch. Depending upon the time of day you might have plenty of locals around the docks to either help or laugh at your plight. Can get a lil rough there 🤪 For an easier launch go further upstream to Bluffton Oyster co, its almost always calm, perfect for SUP and better experience for most. Lived here since 96 and will launch my boat there by myself. the water is calmer up the May river and you can pickup great fresh seafood to cook at the oyster co.
