A lot of history here! I enjoyed walking around learning the history of this place. It has a nice memorial and is kept nice. People I talked to were friendly and it isn't a very big place. That tells you a lot about the people! The museum is only open at certain hours. Check before coming. Nice stop off 17 to stretch your legs and see some nice scenery.

A very peaceful and serene place at times. There is also a memorial. There were many people out fishing today. There was at least one picnic table, and a swing. No other places to sit down that I noticed. There is also a very short fishing pier and at least some seating. We love to come here in the spring for the blessing of the fleet. Food vendors and craft fair. Call the town hall for a list of all the yearly events. There is a porta potty on site but no running water that we could see. There is nothing open here on the weekends except a couple places about a mile away so bring your own food and drink, bait, tackle etc. Also, not a lot of room to park at times. Would we go back? Absolutely! Several times a year!

Shrimp festival- interesting, friendly, not ethnically inclined.

Stay clear of this town. We will no longer purchase any seafood or any items after getting a parking ticket. We saw no signs where we parked. They asked us to dispute it which we did but got no response and they went a head and stole money from our SC revenue. I regret helping this town out during Hurricane Hugo by driving down from Columbia to cut up fallen trees and clear debris.
